Default Greek posters only: Who do YOU think is culturally and behaviorally closest to you?

This is for Greek posters only.. I will create a poll and if you're not a Greek poster please do not answer.

Who do YOU think is culturally, behaviorally, etc. closest to you? In terms of things like attitude, sense of humor, family dynamics, food, music, etc.

I ONLY want the opinion of Greek users, so if you're not Greek and vote I will remove your vote.

Greeks are closest to italians culturally i believe. Greeks are european culturally with southern vibe and I think italians are like that.We may shout a bit more than the northeners, find women easier than the norhteners etc.Regarding food I believe we are closer to italians because of mediterannean diet, olive oil and all that although we have some turkish dishes too.I may eat mussaka twice a yearBut our music is more like the turkish one or generally eastern.

Greek music is often similar to other Balkan music (Serb, Albanian, Bulgarian) and Turkish.. but a lot of older folk songs remind me of rural Sicilian music too. It depends. Food is similar to other Balkan countries too, like Serbia.

I think in terms of behavior and attitude, Greeks are similar to southern Italians.

    It varies

South Italians, Serbs, Black Sea Bulgarians, Slavic Macedonians from Pelagonia...and dare I say it... Christian Lebanese. Before I get attacked for the last one I'll say we share the Olive, the family attachment, the loudness and passion, as well as the Orthodox Church (with about 600,000 Lebanese members). So we share many of the same things with them as we do with South Italians and Sicilians- plus the Church and some cooking

Sicilian and Maronite Lebanese is a common mixture here due to Catholicism and the general Mediterranean way of being.. so I am not surprised the same is true for Greeks. Where I find it hard to relate to Greeks is the elements of their culture shared with Bulgarians, Turks, Serbs etc.

I think Lebanese in the US assimilate in such a way that they are similar to Americans of southern European descent, but in Lebanon the culture is Arabic and not like Greek or Italian.

I explained it there. Lebanese have the sea, the family, the loudness and passion, a lot of the food, the Orthodox Church, and even some similar musical . Christian Orthodox Lebanese are not Osama riding a camel in a desert- they are Demetri and George arguing politics in a cafe, running a restaurant, fishing and playing " tavli"
