It's normal.
Britain has been in a non-stop crisis and decadence ever since end of WW2.
The only export products of Britain are atheists such as Dawkins or Hitchens.
Economy goes bad, Society is ill, people are degenerate.

It couldn't have happened otherwise. The political positioning of the country since the end of the Glorious Revolution has always favoured parliamentarism, individualism and market related liberalism.
A slow but certain trend that sets them in this direction.
As you point out correctly, since 1945 the phenomenon has worsened visibly though.
As I said before, the British Empire has killed (the old) England.

The Church has been taken over by looney lefties which is strange given most of its potential participants are conservative. Thus it's out of touch with its flock.
Spoiler!

Liberal hipster mentality is common in the UK these days, especially in England. It is a though it is considered the height of coolness and sophistication to be atheist, anti-traditional, shocking, alternative, but in reality this has become the orthodoxy and societal default. Hence it is actually not something at all revolutionary or interesting but a dull and now increasingly tired way of living and looking at the world. What I am not able to understand is why people are so content with a lifestyle of celebrity pop shows, singing competitions, heavy boozing and no real intellectual pursuit or interest in things like philosophy, religion or history. Why is decadence seen as something so desirable? Because the mentality is like that of an adult who has not grown out of their teenage mindset, but on a national scale. In my view the issue of immigration has nothing to do with it. To blame the immigrants is ridiculous as this trend in English society would destroy it with or without immigrants being in the country.

Henry VIII built his argument around the idea that the leader of the Church should be a "Christian Prince" of each respective royal territory NOT the Pope in Rome. I don't care for Christianity as I don't care for any Abrahamic religion, but relegating Anglicanism to a mere desire to get a divorce is simplistic. I can appreciate the CoE as a manifestation of a uniquely English Christianity in its own unique historical context.
