Well besides heavy germanic colonisation in this region, a lot of viking settled also.

Compared to the team from Wales, the welsh are noticeably darker in hair and eyes. Half of the welsh were dark eyed.

True. There is definitely a difference between the Welsh and the English; although the English from Birmingham westwards and southwards do overlap with them more, the English in the East and North of the country are noticeably fairer as a whole.

East Anglia must surely be the lightest and most Germanic part of Britain. Not very different in comparision with the Netherlands or Northern Germany.
