Greece has bad architecture, especially Athens with all these old buildins close to each other, and i ask myself how are they gonna destroy them one day?

It is normal every city to have shitty places, especially Athens which has 3 million population.

Those pics of Tirana are way more off than the pic of Athens you posted...and Tirana is only 600k

You're right that's pathetic, but you have to admit that they look quite good, compared to the rest of the city, it's like another world.

Our leaders and intellectuals in 19. and early 20. century did a lot to de-ottomanise all aspects of our society. As a result, we know have typical European styles of that time with out own traditional elements in all major cities. At least the old town cores.

Only Sofia and several other big cities are very bad. Burgas for example is not that depressing.

But there is no doubt that every city/town/village is Soviet influenced which is super ugly.

Sometimes i think that if Ottomans didn't occupied us, Balkan countries would be like Germany or Sweden.
