Why people think that ALL the italians are sicilians?

My American History teacher in high-school made it clear to us that not all Italians are Sicilians. Only Sicilians are Sicilians.

Then he explained that everyone in the mafia is Sicilian, but not all Sicilians are in the mafia. This was a good point, because it has stayed with me for well over 30 years. But some kids in class did not understand it, and he had to explain it over several times until everybody was clear on it.

Why americans (and consequentely the rest of the world by Hollywood and MTV) think that all our inhabitants are sicilians?

I'm sure there were even north italians in the US (just look at some north italian americans like Davido Boreanaz, Rudy Giuliani, Rick Santorum, etc). Why they (you) don't know nothing about our cultural diversity?

Italy isn't a monolithic country. A Sicilian has little connection with a Lombard

South Italians = Armenoid/Hook-nosed wogs.
True North Italians = Celto-Germanic Gaulo-Gothic Krigaroid-derived Übermensch Warriors + Scientists.
Central Italians = North-Italinified South Italians.
