Beverage belts are of foremost importance in French geopolitics:

. The Northwest produces neither wine nor beer (not in significant quantities, I mean), hence only cider,

I think that beer is by far the most popular dink in my country, with wine becoming more common recently at the expense of high % beverages (vodka).

if you zoom in on the map it's a mix of brown and blue, as in they are part of the beer belt and the Vodka belt. (Poland is also part of the wine belt)
