They don't care because gypsies are mixed now. Their non-European genetics are part-MENA, part-South Asian. Like mixing an Indian with Middle eastern.
Indians won't care but maybe Pakistanis will be interested?

no they won't. Gypsies aren't some Desi/indian like diaspora, they are an ethnicity of their own. They are phenotypically(and genetically) and culturally different than south asians.

they do. Brownbear is the only gypsy i've ever met who tries to be indian. Gypsies in hungary don't care about india at all, i think a lot of them don't even know if they are originated from india.

They care about afro american gangsta rap culture much more than india
