    Of course, there are Meds in Northern Italy. Some settled in ancient times (Neolithic Farmers), others during Etruscans and Ancient Romans, others during the Middle Ages, and the most recent with the migrations from southern Italy to northern Italy. But if you look carefully Meds also exist in Central Europe: Switzerland, Austria, between the South Germans...

    Stating that there are differences between the North and South Italians does not mean to say that NI are better than SI. It just means recognizing the differences. As a Northern Italians myself, I don't find hard to recognize that Central and South Italy had more sophisticated civilizations before North Italy.
