Post Thanks - The Emotions thereof

Okay this may sound a little silly ... but has come up in quite a few threads over the months.

Do you check who thank your posts? Is it important to you? And when? How do you react when someone doesn't thank a post of yours, that you think was aimed at them for reading?

Or, if someone thanks a post that is in opposition to you, does it affect you?

When posting I usually know who is going to thank my post, since I know regular members' opinion.

I don't post people to "thank" me

I do check; it isn't important. I can't be troubled to attempt to divine why they liked something I said or didn't, based on a standardized "thanks". They'll tell me if it's important enough to them

It's no big deal, I like when I get 10 thanks for a single post, but don't cry when I get none. Doesn't mean you post crap, just that your post isn't extraordinary.

I really like this thanks button here, it was also on TNP. I have never seen it on another board. Is it an item of vBulletin Loki ?

It is a popular modification that can be seen on many boards these days.

While it is nice to see that I'm not alone on an idea, I don't really take "thanks" for heart. Also I don't always thank posts for agreement. If the post is outrageous, I would thank it for the laugh it gave me. If a post gives good information, or helpful information I will thank it. I think reputation points are much more useful on a specific and individual basis.
