What trades and occupations have been in your family?

My father's Croatian side of family were traditionally carpenters and cobblers, huble by origin but excellent craftsmen. His Bosniak side were soldiers, they earned Agha title. Mother side of family were doctors, priests, book translators, musicians ,millitary officers and traders. Mother side was much wealthier and of higher status than my father's family, but I am much closer to and prouder of my dad's side.

I can trace our family back to the Tang Dynasty (1400 years ago)

How are you able to trace it back so far? My paternal family came here about 300 years ago, and we lose track of it before that.

Both parents were farmers. All my grandparents are farmers and cowboys. My great grandfather was a soldier and an author and the rest of my great-grandparents were sharecroppers, cowboys, soldiers, and farmers.

Technical repairmen, union laborer, cosmetologist and just sales. Also, had secretaries and teachers.

Innkeepers, landowners, shoemakers, farmers, blacksmiths, distillers, journalists, newspaper editors, engineers, computer programmers, salesmen, secretaries, construction workers, factory workers, streetcar conductors, coal miners, restaurant owners, knife makers and sellers, basket makers

Some of my ancestors were involved in local politics in the mid 19th century as well.
