I don't really subscribe to ideologies but that doesn't mean I'm not a liberal. It does mean I didn't decide to be one, though. I suppose I just am one, at least by your standards, as that's where my thought process has evolved to.

The way you think seems to be typical of a liberal. You are okay with gay "marriage", you think abortion is no big deal, and you are quick to dismiss "right wing reactionaries". Everyone subscribes to a belief system whether they recognize it or not. There is no such thing as "thinking for yourself".

Do you think that because my parents were "older" I turned out the way I did ? My oldest sister was born almost 20 years before me and she is mentally retarded coupled with autism, worse than me, and she was born to "young " parents.

Some research suggests older fathers are more likely to have autistic children. However, I think your mother dying at a young age probably had a huge effect on you rather than any inborn problem stemming from the age of your parents.

Probably so. But how do you explain my oldest sister being retarded when she was born to 20 something parents? I wonder what happened there. Maybe it's genetic. My brother is the only normal one. My dad had a 140 IQ. Yet I'm retarded too.

Probably genetics, like you say. I don't know what your sister has. Does she have a condition?

Well she is autistic and has some mental retardation. However, my mother was taking amphetamines during pregnancy, as she had an addiction. My sister is a 62 year old woman with a mentality of a 12 year old child.

Using any drugs or smoking or drinking during pregnancy will have bad effects on the unborn child.

I know someone who has a bunch of health problems. He isn't too bright either. He told me his mom used to smoke all the time (she died when he was 20). She'd even smoke while she was cooking dinner. Pretty sure she smoked when she was pregnant with him, and I'd bet that caused a lot of his health and mental problems. If I recall correctly, he also told me that he was a low birthweight baby, which is also something that smoking during pregnancy can cause.
