Btw Longbowman, are you pro or anti-EU? I am pro-EU, but for practical and technocratic reasons, not the romantic and esoteric waffle that is often spouted in this forum.

I voted remain in return for a steak but no one I know is actually pro EU. Everyone hates it. Some just thought we were better off in it.

I support it as it is important for trade and diplomacy, not because of some romantic notion of European unity etc.

Haha, I always tell my dad that Brits have levels of dislike. It begins at different cities inside the county (Sheffield and Leeds) then there is inter-county dislike (Yorkshire and Lancashire), next between components of the UK (England and Scotland) and finally for any other countries (UK and the US).

Weirdly, I actually don't hear it particularly often. Possibly as I'm generally only around people my age who might speak Hebrew to each other. Or (more likely) I'm tuning it out.

They're journalists, you can't really expect much from them. Still, the BBC is much better in terms of at least trying to be somewhat impartial than many news outlets. They wouldn't be the first ones I criticised. For example, some Arabs and pro-Palestinians think they have a pro-Israel slant

tbqh I don't think Myanmar's actions are very defensible. And of course Israel deserves at least 3% of the criticism it is subject to.
