You'd fire once, probably miss, then I'd fire 30 times before you could reload. Plus if it had been raining the previous day your strings would be ruined whereas I could simply take mine off and restring it later.

What are the best and worst things about being British?

There are no bad things about being British. The idea that being British comes with any downsides is propaganda spread by jealous Frenchmen.

The best things are probably things we take for granted, though - standard of living, everyone speaks our language, stability etc, but these are probably true across the Anglosphere.

The worst things are our neighbours. If you stand on the South Coast you can actually see France. That's too close. Back in the day we'd invade so that we could see Britain instead but then the people in British France would be able to see even more France so the whole thing was a fiasco.

Ultimately, comfort, security, brilliant dialects, beautiful country and great cities, great infrastructure, pretty good international presence and standing, little corruption, versus the BNP, SNP, Sinn Fein and UKIP, Tower Hamletsistan, the Provos, and binge drinking culture.
