Yes, not everyone wore good armour (although nearly everyone wore armour of some sort), but you made statement that longbows could hurt man in armour.

Both at Crecy and Agincourt French men-at-arms were extremelly well armoured (France was big and fertile, and therefore it could field excellent feudal-style armies, while English had to resort more to levied commoners). And by the beginning of 15th century brigandines were commonly worn even by poor soldiers.

Seriously, no one would spend money on good armour (it was so good that shields were rapidly falling out of use by the middle of 14th century) if it could be so easily defeated. Ability of bows to pierce armour or of swords to hack through it are just modern Hollywood invention.

Some modern scholars believe this, most don't, and the results of battles and reports at the time suggest you're wrong. Hollywood invention? no, if it is an invention, it's a much older one.
