Since it is possible to be overwhelmed or underwhelmed, is it also possible to be simply whelmed? Why dos not knowing anything, and knowing nothing mean the same thing? The Early bird gets the worm but being early doesn't work out for the early worm does it?

It does because being a worm is awful. They're glad to be eaten by the uebervogel bird. All worms dream of death. It is a cruel trick God played on them by giving them the ability to survive being chopped in two.

I wasn't talking specifically about the Confederacy, but supposing you were an American in 1861, you would fight for the Union?

I think that would depend hugely on my demographics. Am I white? Black? Do I live in Vermont or Mississippi?

I can understand why people fought for each side. That said, I think the objective man would have fought for the Union.

Durante mi juventud, cuando tenia 11 anos y estaba aplicando a institutos (en la mayoria del Reino Unido hay un sistema de formacion de dos niveles, primaria y secundaria) era un hispanofilo y solo consideraba los institutos que ensenaban espanol (en Gran Bretana no hay mucho atencion puesta en la ensenanza de idiomas extranjeros, porque somos todos muy arrogantes - vosotros podeis aprender la nuestra lengua ). De hecho solo me importaban los idiomas (y el deporte) en el instituto. Que es la importancia de geografia, y las nubes y rocas y lo que sea? Pero el aprendizaje de un idioma es algo real, algo tangible y concreto, algo que puedes tomar y usar y me cayo bien. Hace 18 meses cuando hice mi aplicacion a universidad eligi a estudiar espanol, pero una semana antes del inicio del primer semestre, me dijeron que no habia espacio suficiente para mi en el curso y que yo pudiera o cambiar cursos o seguir con Italiano en vez de espanol.

Por eso, lo aprendi en colegio y por mi voluntad.

Blacks fought for both sides, I think it depended more on where you lived than Race.

Robert E. was a great commander but also a traitor.

General Lee was fighting for his native Virginia though, (I was born in the same state as him) he was not a traitor. If Virginia hadn't Seceded, he would have fought for the North.
