Default What is the PROPER usage of the term "East Med"?

I'm finding that when I say "East Med", people are expecting someone who looks Middle Eastern. I, however, use East Med to mean someone who looks stereotypically Southern Italian or Greek. People like Lorenzo Insigne, Maria Menounos, etc.

East Med just means all of the Eastern Mediterranid types. Eastern Gracile-Mediterranid, Pontid, Iranid, etc...

The difficulty I see is between telling apart Gracile Med and East Med. I almost wonder if the two can be used interchangeably amongst some European Meds.

Iranid is easy to tell apart, I think, as is Pontid (although I also have trouble telling Pontid and Atlanto-Med).

The East Mediterranid is not one type, it is just a spectrum.
