Don't forget that quite a few accademic scholars think that Celts originate in Anatolia/Asia minor - now Turkey- and then spread in Europe.

Most likely the origins of the Etruscans are in Turkey, the ancient legends of the people of the Veneti (my people) trace their mother land back to Turkey, the ancient Romans themselves believed that their origins were in Turkey. Even some ancient English legends refer to Turkey as mother land. There was a historian on Historum who had cited some ancient English legends where Turkey was considered the homeland of the Britons.

St. George was TURKISH for example, and probably the English of that time wanted a noble past whose origins were in Turkey and certainly not in Scandinavia.
