I think I've posted these lists on like 2 different threads already. Anyway here they are, if you go by Y-DNA.

Most Germanic countries in Europe (I1 + I2b + R1b-S116-, S21+)

Netherlands: about 70% of Y-DNA
Sweden : about 65%
Denmark : about 58%
Norway & Iceland : about 55%
England : about 53%
Germany : about 40%
Belgium : about 38%



Most Proto-Germanic Countries (I1 + I2b)

Sweden : about 44%
*Gotland : about 54%
Norway : about 37%
Denmark : about 36%
Iceland : about 33%
Netherlands : about 25%
England & Germany : about 21%

Terms like Germanic, Celtic, Slavic etc. are always slightly vague and has some overlap but in a narrow sense only some Y-DNA I and R1b subclades are considered purely Germanic.
I'm not saying this list is 100% correct since you can't measure who is the most Germanic with only Y-DNA but there is alot of truth behind it.

Anyways there are several aspects to Germanic identity. To make it simple and put it short I think that:
Scandinavians+Dutch are the most Germanic genetically.
Scandinavians are the most Germanic culturally.
Icelandic and Faraoese are the languages closest to the proto-germanic, old norse and other old Germanic languages.

Yes! You could use the Y-DNA I1 as the Proto-Germanic. No so much the I2b though.

Netherlands are quite Germanic but I haven't been there. Only met quite a lot of people from there. Denmark is obviously very much so. Not too sure about Southern Sweden as it's the same as Denmark more or less but a bit different demographics perhaps. Sweden as a whole is pretty Germanic from south all the way to Stockholm but there are a lot of foreigners.

If you go more north east in Sweden (Norrland) you start to see more East/Corded Nordids. People there seem to have a more relaxed and laid-back view of life despite what's going on.

The Dutch are the most Germanic of them all! They are about 70% Nordics and the rest are CMs. Obviously, Vikings were by far predominantly Germanics. The Swedish are 75% Nordic in race, while the Danes are mostly CMs (70%), Norwegians are 75% Nordic as well. Icelanders are 60% Nordic, the rest are CMs. Nevertheless, just because the Dutch are the most Germanic people on earth, it doesn't make them the blondest.

The Dutch aren't the most Germanic. Wishful thinking. The Proto-Germanic urheimat is in Scandinavia (Jutland-Skåne), as-well as the founder population (Nordic Bronze Age).

You could make a strong case for the North Dutch (Friesland, Groningen and Drenthe) that they are the most Germanic since they likely have the most Continental Northern European ancestry. Central and South Dutch have too much France IA signature...

In the end it's either going to be North Dutch and Danes who are truly the most descended from Early Middle-Age Germanics. Norway has too much British IA and Sweden overall too much Baltic BA.
