Slavness of Austria is grossly exaggerated on this forum.

Despite their supposed slavic admixture they're still very central euro and even very germanic looking in many cases. Jörg Haider and Arnold Scwarzenegger both have(/had) extremely Germanic phenos(despite being dark) that would look off in Hungary, let alone further east.

I wouldn't guess a group of Austrians to be slavic/Eastern euro.
Give me random groups of hungarians and random of groups of Austrians and I will tell them apart 90% of the time.

They're a very germanic country because of language, culture and identity, those are the things that matter in real life. Genetics are considered extremely important only on anthroforums.

Just Anglo its own thing. English are likely plurality Germanic if you view ancestry from all Ethno-linguistic groups. Celtic is probably not a suitable identity either. Celto-Germanic seems the best ethnolinguistic description. Maybe Germano-Briton.

Do they consider St Walpurga Germanic? St Boniface, the patron saint of Germany? Alcuin? Wilibrord, Apostle of the Frisians? The Author of Beowulf?
    Spoiler!

Of course they do! England has been the most successful Germanic country for a very long time. Even the Germans considered the English as their cousins. It’s actually the English who sometimes don’t see themselves as Germanic in a sense rather proud of just being English. Also especially after World War II, many English disliked Germans and don’t want to be associated with them. Previously, Pro-Germanic extremists like the Nazis of Germany regarded the Germans as well as the English, Dutch, Danish, Norwegian and Swedish as the most racially pure in Europe. Strange isn’t it?

Good point? Most people are so ignorant that it was the Anglo-Saxons who converted their Germanic cousins in Germany and Frisia!

Despite them identifying as Celts, the Scots still speak remnants of a language that was more Germanic than English. i.e. Lalland Scots
