it just depends on your perspective..........in their eyes its not being cruel. They are giving something sacred, life itself, out of reverence.
no matter what you think of the act itself the intentions behind it are not out of cruelty.
and besides, they see their spirits as having human-like qualities...they want drink and food
what they do is no different than what Burger King does, except they have an actual purpose to it.

I know most cultures practice animal sacrifice, but I disagree with the practice. Our meat animals should be raised with humane practices and given a dignified death. That is how we honor their place in the food chain.
Tell that to factory farming though
