I think they are Thracians, Hellenes, Macedonians, Illyrians, who are Slavized like most people in the Balkans with Slavic admix of course.

Paleo-Balkanites mixed with Slavic tribes. Genetically, we are not much different to our neighbours, and in calling us Gypsies and Turks, you are in turn calling yourselves that.
