Stan is an ancient Indo Iranian word meaning "place" , its found in Iranic, Indo-Aryan, and Dard languages. It was absorbed into the lexicon of Turks too.
When people here "STAN", they think of Islamic extremists and destruction. But reality is , its just an archaic Indo Iranian word.
Its similar thing with Swastika, Western Media looks at it as a symbol of Hate because of its Nazi usage, but reality is its been used in Eastern religions for thousands of years. It actually means "good luck"

Yes.
Four of the seven countries which end in -stan speak Turkic languages, not Indo-European. "Stan" is actually a loan word from Persian for land in many languages in the region.
They actually descended from the original Göktürks who were fully Mongoloid. During the Turkic migration that took place after the Göktürk Empire fell, they moved west and mixed with Caucasoids.
They basically destroyed Indo-European power on the Kazakh steppe and Inner Asian mountains and produced a mongrel population with Indo-Iranian women. Slavs were also brought in as slaves during the period of the Golden Horde and Kipchak polities.
Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan are rich with resources, but the former doesn't seem to care about its neighbours and the latter is a hermit kingdom. The entire Caspian Sea depression in all those nations - Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, along with Azerbaijan, Iran, and Russia are filled with oil in that region. It is so large that a fire started after an explosion in 1973 in Turkmenistan at Darvaza at a failed gas venture is still burning today.
However, these countries have Soviet corruption and still cannot remove Russian Vor. Criminal world was absolutely "egalitarian" with Russians, Georgians, Uzbeks and even super minorities like Yezidi Kurds being important mob leaders. The Vor culture was almost a controlled opposition to organise the dregs in a way that would prevent them from making another revolution like the one that got the Tsars killed.

"stan" is related to "state", "stead" (homestead, instead of=in "place" of, in good stead), it is well es-"sta"-blished, reminding PIEs that "We wuz kangz an' sheit" was an actual fact back then. The -stan countries could replace "Stand" with "Stan" when translating Custer's Last Stand, as a Muzzie joke, even though it is related.
