This poor Shih Tzu was born with no eyes and it made me feel sad and tearful. I took some videos of him which I've not uploaded yet. He kept walking into objects.

Crufts is the world's largest dog show.

Crufts is an umbrella term for an international canine event held annually in the United Kingdom. Crufts is centred on a championship conformation show for dogs but also includes a large trade show of mainly dog-related goods and services and competitions in dog agility, obedience, flyball and heelwork to music.

The event is organised and hosted by the Kennel Club. It is held over four days (Thursday to Sunday) in early March at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham, England. The highest profile dog show in British culture, it is the largest show of its kind in the world, as declared by Guinness World Records.

Crufts consists of several competitions occurring at the same time. The main competition is for the Best in Show award, which is hotly contested by dogs and their owners throughout the world.

America's Oldest Pet Dogs Uncovered in 10,000-Year-Old Grave in Illinois

Americans love their pet dogs — all 78 million of them, in fact. Caring for pet pups is a tradition in the Americas that stretches back millennia, though scientists only recently discovered exactly how long ago dog domestication really took place. Last week, at the annual meeting of the Society for American Archaeology, researchers revealed the ages of a trio of pups buried in ancient graves in southern Illinois. These dogs, deeply cared for by their owners, are older than anyone previously guessed.

PETA animal-rights protesters disrupted the prestigious Crufts dog show this year to protest against pure-bred dogs as 'cruelty'.

The videos went viral as the winner of a contest in the show grabbed her whippet dog into her protective arms and lifted her dog away from the protesters who stormed into the dog arena. Security guards wrestled the protester to the ground.

Mixed breed (mongrel) dogs tend to have less health problems and live longer.



Pure bred dogs can tend to suffer with some health problems, but the dogs at the prestigious dog show are in excellent health conditions. Their dog breeders are fully registered with the highly respected and renowned Kennel Club, and the breeders take a lot of caution and care to prevent health problems being inherited in certain breeds, and provide dog owners with official certificates of the dog's family tree, along with medical certificates of any health conditions of the dogs relatives, etc.

The aim of the Crufts show is to show healthy and happy dogs at their very best... who are well-groomed and well-trained in obedience, agility, etc, according to their breed standard.
