on average they can, there are some individuals who cant, i remember when i was in Los Angeles when i was younger and i saw some who i thought were mexicans, they even dressed like chicano gangsters haha

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, droves of Armenians migrated to the Los Angeles, California area, mainly to the areas around Hollywood. Many eventually moved to the areas of Glendale and Burbank where they were met with opposition by the Hispanic gangs. Faced with opposition from the Mexican and Salvadorian gangs the Armenians, like the Salvadorians who formed the Mara Salvatrucha aka MS-13, formed their own gang, known as The Armenian Power. The gang is also known as the Armenian Power 13, AP 13 and AP.
Since those early conflicts with the Hispanic gangs, much has changed. The AP has gradually merged into the Southern California Hispanic gang known as the Sureños. According to a reliable Mexican Mafia source they are now part of the Mexican Mafia/Sureño machinery. They have held positions of authority in California prisons and Local facilities such as, Pisero, (someone who controls an entire floor within a correctional facility including the Sureños on that floor). They have been known to perform contract hits for the EME and the Sureños. As Sureños, they are expected to participate in all conflicts with rival groups and to do hits for anyone considered to be on the “la lista”.
A mistake often made is to consider them as an Armenian group functioning within the Sureño alliance, rather than to see them as equal partners beneath the Sureño umbrella. Because they are Armenian they will not be discriminated against nor hold a position lower than that of their Hispanic peers. They will be and are considered equals with the ability to even sit on the Sureño Mesas (ad hoc commissions comprised of Sureños that control a prison for the EME) that run the entire faculty. Also, according to a news report, they also have criminal ties to Armenia and Russia.
Like most other gangs, the AP members are known to wear the barrio style clothing, sagging, baggy khaki pants, pressed white T-shirts, hair nets, navy blue ski caps, locs sunglasses, and tattoos They post graffiti to inform or warn others of their presence.
