how many times do i have to tell you that he is neither an Indian nor a Nepalese because neither of those countries existed at that time.In those days South Asia was divided into number of small republics

    Discuss.

    Poll coming right up.
What is called Nepal nowadays was then under the control of the Kapilavastu empire, and so asking whether the Buddha was "Nepalese" or Indian is immaterial. He was born within the borders of Akhand Bharat "Greater India" or "Undivided India" and while India did not exist as a Nation-State, Buddha was descended from a Vedic kshatriya clan. So perhaps we has both (assuming the concept of Nepal as such existed back then) in the same sense as Rabindranath Tagore was both Indian and Bengali.

Shakya dynasty and Nepal has existed along side other princely states in India. The only difference is that we never joined the East India Company, where as majority of the smaller countries did.

Was Buddha a Indid looking person? Yes!
    Was he Indian? No.

It would be similar to me claiming that Murya dynasty was Nepalese because they were part of the "Akhand Bharat"
