Default Why does my kom have curly hair

A couple of weeks ago I asked "Do I look more European or Mestizo". According to the responses I look 50/50. Anyway, I posted a picture of my mother and some have suggested she was a Zamba (A mix of african ancestry) but no one in my family is black. My grandparents weren't black.. my grandmother was a pure amerindian from a tribe in JAEN, Cajamarca, Peru. Jaen is made up of mostly Natives and Mestizos with a 0 black population. Most of the blacks who live in Peru are in Ica, Lima, Piura, but Jaen is mainly amazonian tribes. I've been there plenty of times before and 80% of the people are of the aguaruna tribe.

So I find it quite interesting that some have suggested african ancestry just because of curly hair.. any thoughts or judgments? Thank you!

    EDIT** MOM. My apologies.

Spaniards can have curly hair so it could be that. Otherwise, it is SSA influenced.

I dont think she is ssa influenced, she only looks like a brazilid indomestizo type, indomestizo is a predominantly amerind individual with very little caucasian influence and such little influence rarely modifies the native phenotype however it is enough to influence certain traits in the individual such as a lighter skin, light eyes, in your mom's case it was hair texture.

The Battle of San Pasqual was a military encounter that occurred during the Mexican-American War in what is now the San Pasqual Valley community of the city of San Diego, California. On December 6 and December 7, 1846, the Californios, and their Presidial Lancers, led by General Don Andres Pico, (1810-1876), defeated Stephen W. Kearny´s US Army column of 150 men.

Curly hair is found in Europeans too so I would think it comes from there rather than some mysterious SSA ancestor

If someone does not have stick straight hair it is because of negroid influence. Duh!

Lol just kidding, it is not uncommon for Europeans to have curly or wavy hair. My hair is a little bit wavy. Not sure about Amerindians.
