The SouthWest Asian component is indeed Gedroisa or the Balochi component is not related to the Semitic/Arabian component that peaks in Arabia among the Yemenite Jews and ethnic Arabians. This can be seen in the samples here that this component has no relationship to the Semitic peoples, and thus the term SouthWest Asian is really Central-South Asian in this case.

I believe this component is the first wave of Neanderthals into Europe. Its not new or startling as I believe they are the carriers of R1b.

This is entirely ridiculous. Here's why:

They claim that European populations are a mix of Northern European, Southern European, and Southwest Asian. They also claim that there is nobody alive today who is pure Northern European, Southern European, or Southwest Asian.

In that case, where in the world did they get the samples of Northern European, Southern European, and Southwest Asian from to compare to various European populations?

They can guess at which genes came from where but at the end of the day, it is just that, a guess.

It seems based on the most recent studies that modern Europeans are descended of three ancient populations who all had mainly or entirely west Eurasian ancestry: WHG(western hunter gatherer), ANE(Ancient north Eurasian), and EEF(Early European farmer). WHG and ANE both come from mainly the same very ancient source, who were from what we know were probably the first people in Europe. ANE is like the eastern branch and WHG the western branch, ANE ancestry doesn't just exist in Europe is it higher in west Asia, native Americans, and south Asia. EEF descends from near easterns who gave farming to Europe and mixed with native WHG hunter gatherers. It is mainly of near eastern origin but also has a good chunk of WHG.

There is also non EEF near eastern ancestry in Europe, especially in Italy(more in the south) and the Balkans(more in the south and it peaks in Greece) and it comes from people who were almost no different from modern people around Israel and Syria. There is some north-west African ancestry in Iberia and other parts of Meditreaen Europe which also brought some sub Saharan African ancestry and there is east Asian ancestry in far eastern Europe.

North European in Geno 2,0 is mainly of WHG origin, but also has some ANE and EEF, Meditreaen is mainly of EEF or just plain near eastern origin, and south-west Asian is probably mainly near eastern but has some ANE.

However in most calculators we are used to, "Southwest Asian" is Bedouin like

    East Asian - Eastern China
    West African - Nigeria
    Volga-Ural - Western Volga
    South Baltic - Lithuania
    Western European - Western Ireland

    Spoiler!

Geno may have a bit different definition.

Geno may have a bit different definition.
He said the National Geographic 'Northern European category" was an admixture of mostly WHG but also has some ANE and EEF admixture. In GEDmatch the best calculator , with ORACLE(s), that approximates this model is Dodecad K12B, though some PUNTdnal calculators come close, perhaps Gedrosia + Caucaus can approximate the SouthWest Asian category etc... :

    Dodecad K12b 4-Ancestors Oracle
This program is based on 4-Ancestors Oracle Version 0.96 by Alexandr Burnashev.
Questions about results should be sent to him at: Alexandr.Burnashev@gmail.com
Original concept proposed by Sergey Kozlov.
Many thanks to Alexandr for helping us get this web version developed.

The GEDmatch version of Oracle may give slightly different results from Dienekes version. The GEDmatch version uses FST weighting in its calculations.

    Admix Results (sorted):

    # Population Percent
    1 North_European 42.99
    2 Atlantic_Med 38.17
    3 Gedrosia 12.49
    4 Caucasus 3.75

Finished reading population data. 223 populations found.
