Finalist out of 50 for the Varkey Foundation Global Teacher Prize, which every year rewards the teacher who has stood out the most in the profession. And this year there is a Portuguese face among the nominees for what is considered the “Nobel of Education”.
Joăo Couvaneiro, a history teacher teaching at Colégio dos Plátanos, in Sintra. Author of several scientific articles published in national and foreign journals, Joăo Couvaneiro is frequently invited to write some book chapters. He is also part of the Office of the Secretary of State for Education, where he performs specialized advisory functions in the area of education and training for young people and adults.
