2010! A new decade...where are we heading?

Well a new decade is upon us in just a couple of days. I can hardly believe it myself that 2000 has come and gone and we're now into the teens. I'm just putting this out as a general thread with no other purpose other than for us to think about our respective individual futures, our respective communities' futures, our respective countries' futures and in the end, to think about the direction that our planet and its inhabitants (all species) are taking....and will be heading towards....

Where are we heading in this decade do you think? This time 10 years from now, what do you think we will be chatting about? What will be some of our concerns, hopes and desires for the following decade?

Ok well, how about just focusing on heading into the year 2010! But we can extend this into speculation into the next decade which starts next year, if we want. Fair compromise?
