I agree with you. Algeria is lighter than Iran as a whole , though some regions of Algeria are on per with some regions Iran in terms of darkness. But the lightest regions of Iran are poorly peopled , in comparison to Algeria where it has a very high density per capita.Originally Posted by SouthAsian
For the record nearly 60% of the population of Algiers (Algeria's capital) is of Kabyle descent , and this without even included people from Arabized kabyle regions.

For some reason, Arabians are seen as particularly dark. Their skin pigmentation isn't dark but their hair and eye color are usually dark.
When it comes to skin-color, all Europeans are quite similar to each other. So there is no reason to divide Southern and Northern Europe. And Europeans are always significantly lighter than any non-euro Caucasoid on average.
