World's tallest building Burj Khalifa opens in Dubai

Fireworks light up the sky at the opening of the world’s tallest man-made structure yesterday – the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.

As they went off, a screen displayed its exact height – 828m (2,717ft) – which had been a secret.

The tower has been named after the leader of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al-Nahayan, who helped bail the financially troubled Gulf city-state out of its debts.

This reminds me of the tower of Babel and looks like an ideal target for flying terrorists who despise the sort of liberal orientation of Dubai.

No way ! The highest building on Earth in an Arabian country ? Which one of the European countries would like to take up the challenge ?
Too bad that our soil conditions are so lousy because I think that the highest tower on Earth belongs in Rotterdam and nowhere else.
