For what I know, my father was in the army at that moment (draftee) and he met my mother while being based at Breda. At that moment, she was a young waitress in a bar that, apparently, seems to have been close to the barracks (at least, that's what I have been told). They were both 17 (mother) and 18 (father). I'd normally have all the paperwork here (including, even, his old military passport), but my dear aunt needed them for some research so I have to head back across the rivers, to go pick it up.

It’s such a long story but in short: my mom worked in an athelier and one day my dad came just random because he knew a coworker of my mom there. He fell in love at first sight but my mom was such a highclass woman didn’t gave him attention and said that she found him fat (turkish women are direct asf). So what my dad did was going back to the netherlands (he lived there already) lose all the weight and came back 1 year later to Istanbul to see my mom

Nope, they divorced when I was 6 because they both had really different personalities

They met in a church event, my father played the guitar in the band, he was covering for a friend of his that had to bail on the last moment. After he did his thing he ended up meeting my mother backstage, they started talking, he taught her how to play the guitar and the rest is history.
