The best exercise to lose fat quickly is high intensity interval training. You can do it with a stationary bike.

Well "fat" is relative. Maybe you are only fat to your own eyes.

Haven't seen any of the weight come off yet, but hopefully next year I'll have more time to focus on getting in shape. I will cull some volunteer responsibilities, and my kids will be in school full time. I plan to join a gym soon.
Larali, the older we become, the more difficult it is to lose weight if you have one of those bodies where keeping the weight off has ever been any kind of effort.

I looked my very best when I was about your age....31-35. Having a child at an older age has wreaked havoc upon me lol. You have my full support!!

Since I've been athletic in the past I know what it takes to be fit but I haven't had the motivation because of depression and some limitation on what I can do because of pain. I'm trying to change things around these days so I understand what it's like.
    Depression is a huge factor.

I thank my fast metabolism, my casual dips on the balcony and my casual pull ups in the washroom's bar where the hanging strings are attached for having a decent shape.

Cant speak for everyone. But my Mum had tried loads of diets to get back. The best one for her is 5:2 diet.

I've started fasting recently. I've done it in the past. I've also cut out all alcohol all together.

I was born an ectomorph and then when I was about 12 I started to eat a lot and I mean a lot so I gained some little weight, I had this belly and "tires" on my waist but I was not that fat to be honest, nonetheless at the age of 15 I started to feel really bad and embarrased about wearing a bathing suit in front of gals.

You know, at those ages you start to feel attraction to women so I remember that time I was at one beach and then I came across this group of very thin pretty gals about 15-17 y.o. I was 15 and to be honest I found them to be just as the perfection incarnated, then I looked at my belly and started feeling like a turd (to be honest I wasnt that bad but for some psychological reason many teenagers magnify their physical flaws, that was me!!!).

Then I suddenly passed from a deep shame to courage and I promised myself I wasnt going to look like shit for the rest of my life and I decided to change no matter what it took me to do it, so I started to do lots and lots of excecise. At the age of 15 I was 186 pounds by my late 16's I was 153 pounds, I was alredy a tall kid so being 186 wasnt really that bad however at those times I felt fat as a pig!!!.

So at last I got the goal, at last I was very thin but that wasnt enough I started to feel like becoming more muscular at the age of 17 I started working out and continued constantly working out per almost 20 years in a row!!!.

I got my goal: I the ages of 25 to 32 I got and sustain the shape I always wanted, maybe it is not for me to say this but I managed to be happy with my body I was very strong I used to get lots of women's attention and my friends used to compliment me all the time my dream came true!!!, and yes I might not have been Mr. Olympia I know but the most important is that I was happy and satisfied with my own achievements and all that without having "juiced" at all if you know what I mean. up.

As an anecdote, there was this dude at the gym, a fromer lightweight Mr.Mexico who told this to my friends about me:"If that kid gets under my teachings I think I can make a champion out of him!". That's true, nonetheless that should have necessarly mean I have to get "juiced" and to be honest I have always been against the use of steroids or any other drug to bulk and improve muscular development, My mother is a physician and she always provided me with enough info about what can happen to you if you use those substances so I was really afraid and I decided not to compromise my health, my vanity wasnt that big after all.

Time has passed by from those times I became a little fat again, you know, you get married become a little lazier but recently I decided to loose some weight because I was eating a lot and have started to feel really sick but not mentally, the bad diet and the excess of fat was compromising my health so I got on a diet again and was able to lost 28 ponds, now I am feeling really well and I am looking forward to get back to the gym, so Larali, dont give up you can do it, if you did it once before you can do it again, when you excercised in the past you created a "muscular memory" so your body is going to get in shape easier than if you hadnt done anything in your life before it is just a matter of will and work.

Will, dicipline and action, go for it babe!!!.

The Battle of San Pasqual was a military encounter that occurred during the Mexican-American War in what is now the San Pasqual Valley community of the city of San Diego, California. On December 6 and December 7, 1846, the Californios, and their Presidial Lancers, led by General Don Andres Pico, (1810-1876), defeated Stephen W. Kearny´s US Army column of 150 men.

I'm not fat, but I am quite skinny. I have pretty damn severe depression, have been practically sedentary for months, am a total loner, and have lost over 20lbs (mostly muscle) from when I had a healthy weight and build for my age some number of months ago. Every night when I lie down to sleep, I can feel my pelvic bones sticking out further than they ever have and it freaks me out, I think I have some sort of excessive paranoia of starvation because of issues my mother had when I was in the womb.

I'm going to my doctor to get referred to a nutritionist today, because I've been having a lot of trouble eating food recently. I'm not anorexic, but I must have some obscure eating disorder, because it takes a lot of effort to prepare and/or eat a plate of food, even if I'm hungry, and even if it's high quality food.

Inspiration is the most important ingredient, work towards a difficult, yet realistic goal.

    What/Who motivates you?
