They are too mixed to view them as a whole.

The Burgundians were just a small Germanic tribe (very small, if you take into account that their original craddle was supposed to be the little Danish isle Bornholm). They managed to control for some time all of present day South-Eastern France and the western part of what if known now as Switzerland. But, unlike the Franks, they had been cut off from their Germanic roots long time before. Their genetic input was therefore almost negligible, if any (like the Lombards in Italy or the Wisigoths in Spain).
French-Swiss population is bizarrely diverse. In some parts, especially on the countryside, there is an abnormally high share of true Nordids, more so than in the German speaking part of the Confederation. Since any Germanic influence is to be ruled out, those people must be the remnants of the original Gaulic aristocracy. On the other hand, in the big towns (Genève, Lausanne, Neuchatel, La Chaux-de-Fonds), all European types are to be found, from Mediterranean to Subnordids (I know it's counter-intuitive but there are much more typical Alpinids in Central France or Brittany). Many Huguenots, mainly from Southern France, settled there, and there has been a constant flow of Allemanic immigrants, as well as Italians in recent times. Typically, out of 10 French Swiss, 4 have a German surname and 2 an Italian one.

Well, Sidoine Apollinaire still complained that the Burgundians were smelly and noisy barbarians speaking an atrocious language. But I guess he viewed them as we view our Arabs.
Though it's true the Burgundians were in their time the most romanized barbarians of all. Catholicism was spread among them before any other tribe, though it didn't matter as it would later for the Franks.
But they still gave us Clotilde and the Loi Gombette, that's not nothing.
People wouldn't think that the heart of Lower Brittany is chokeful of Alpinids.

There was a TV programme once where they demonstrated that Turkish Cypriots and Greek Cypriots were actually the same genetic stock (i.e. Cypriots) so perhaps the same logic applies to Switzerlnd.
