I was arguing with a woman on Facebook who insists that she is 100% Indigenous Mexican, and has no European ancestry at all, despite the fact that she can actually pass as fully European. She got angry at me for calling her out on not recognizing her passing privilege and her claim she is "not European at all", and then proceeded to tell me I can't police her identity since I am "white", although she's probably 10% native at best, and looks less mixed than some of my family.

I have known so many people to do this, especially those of partial Native American ancestry who don't look it.

If someone looks white, they're not "black", or a "person of color" since these terms refer to phenotype. They are genetically not fully European, but they're not "black", since that's a phenotype.

It could be argued that there are very few "black" Americans in the united states at all, aside from the few first generation immigrants. The remainder have almost all been mixed with some degree either with European or Amerindian peoples.
