We do not ask these questions about these Vlachs, Bulgarians, Turks, e.t.c. e.t.c. because all of them had states at some point in history and some of them have left literary accounts in their language. This does not really apply to you because none of your literate folks used the name "Macedonian" to write about themselves in their own language until the late 19th century - and above all because the Macedonians have been something different than you in the track record of history thousands of years now...
