Does Dziewanna/Devana simply mean Goddess? it looks very similar to Sanskrit Deva.

Probably it had such meaning in matriarchy times. I am not a linguistician, but in Polish the root "dziew" (dev) is still present is many words as "dziewczyna" (girl), "dziewica" (virgin), "dziewoja" (young girl), "dziewictwo" (virginity), "dzieworództwo" (parthenogenesis), and many others which can be connected with the Goddess. In Poland Dziewanna/Verbiscum speciosum is a plant dedicated to her.

Did you preserve in your language the root "dev'? Is it familiar to you?

I might do a short description about every one of them once I have the time.

    Thanks, it would be great

it's preserved in ''Dievas'', our word for ''god''.
Big bow to You I think "Dievas"/Dziewas" root it is also preserved in our Polish everyday words as "Dziękuję" (Thank you) and "Dzień dobry" (Good day) when you say hallo to the sun/Sun God (despite Christianisation Poles greeted the sunrise untill the mid 15th century). In Polish "dzień", besides of a 'day', has also a meaning of 'brightness' and 'luminosity', so probaby it can be connected with the Goddess or God of the bright sky
