Introduction - coming from a stupid hate site

Greetings, I am new to the Apricity, and didn't even know this site existed. Had I known, I would have never wasted my time on that hateful white supremacist site.

I am German on both parents side. My father's father was a full-blooded West German and his mother was English, my mother's mother's folks were from South Germany (I believe Bavaria) and her grandfather was a pure Castilla Spaniard.

I got involved over on that nasty site in an effort to connect with and celebrate my ancestral roots, but the constant antisemitism and hatred for non-Europeans was something I am ashamed to admit I tolerated for far too long.

I never believed in racial pride and always wanted only ethnic pride. I should have never tolerated that place and I was wrong to have ever been there.

I am very happy to have found this place - I feel like it's truly a blessing. Finally a place to be proud of who you are without senseless racism, Hitler worship , and baseless antisemitism!

This site is a godsend!

Actually I'm 1/8 Spanish - my mother's grandfather is spanish. So I guess I'm an octoroon?

I am basically 3/4 German, 1/8 english, 1/8 spanish. Roughly - I may have a hint of dutch or even a tiny fraction of african (due to Iberian ancestry).

I am luckier than many Americans as I was able to nail down my ancestry (it wasn't hard to do, my family kept good track of things).

Plus my European ancestors came to America before the turn of the 20th century whereas many American's ancestors had been here way longer.

My great-grandfather was about your color. I wouldn't have minded a tad more color but I do tan very well unlike some Germans.

That's not me, it's a Greek Cypriot singer who is also part Lebanese. But I look similar to him.
