Neither.
I would say Russia for the reason they try to counter NATO and because Crimea was Russian before but we are pretty much disconnected from that part of the world and siding with any side would be stupid.

Not only that, but he's a Catholic originally from Western Ukraine. Very interesting to see such a unique view out here. Then again, he may or may not be who he says he is.
Why should people be blamed today for what their ancestors did? Should White Americans be blamed for slavery? Do White South Africans deserve what they're getting for colonization? What the Tatars did in a completely different era doesn't mean they should be treated with contempt today. They should be treated equally to other citizens of their country. It is most unfortunate to see Ukrainians today putting the Tatars on a pedestal, and jointly crying over 1944 with them, when the Tatars were brutal enemies of both Ukrainians and Russians. Tatars captured and sold millions of Ukrainians and Russians into slavery. Finally, Russians (along with Ukrainians) dismantled the Crimea Khanate and decimated the Tatars. Today, the Tatars are one of those whiny "indigenous peoples" in Ukraine that the Ukrainian establishment and Ukrainian liberals are all too eager to kiss the asses of.
If the Tatars deserve sympathy for any wrongdoings against them, then they deserve sympathy. If they don't deserve sympathy, then they don't. What they did centuries ago is irrelevant to how they should be treated today.

I'm quite confused as it goes for Ukraine. Do Ukrainians really want own country? Or only people who live in the Western part of Ukraine feel to be Ukrainians and the rest wants to be part of Russia or have an own state.
I have never met an Ukrainian who was proud of own origin. From all of them I got an impression they were ashamed of being Ukrainians... in the CzR plenty of immigrants from Ukraine live... despite they still can't speak Czech they are able to say "I am not an Ukrainian I am a Czech"... wtf.
So is here anyone who can explain me what Ukrainians want? I support neither Ukraine nor Russia I support will of Ukrainians... and I hope that to follow their will could stop their immigration madness. I want them to stay in Ukraine.
