Is Putin a Military Genius?

Uhm, Putin is not a military genius because Ukrainian military is a joke compared to the Russian army. He'd be a military genius when he'd win a military scenario against an equal or superior opponent, like China or USA.

But he's very smart in a political way. He achieves his goals step by step. The others are too stupid, inapt and clumsy to be a step ahead. The EU powers e.g. are nothing but joke figures at the moment.

Russia's armed forces can't match the West's. Their equipment is outdated and their systems and organization are far inferior to those of the United States and even most NATO armies.

Uhm, I don't agree with that. That could have been true 15 years ago, but no longer. The Russian military has undergone extensive modernisation since Putin came to power, and is more battle-ready than any NATO country, except perhaps the US. It also boasts a lot of new, state-of-the-art equipment which is only increasing year by year from now.

Russia is currently building loads of new ships and subs, designing a modern new battle-tank, the T99, which will be mass-produced and replace all other tanks (the thousands of T72s, T80s and T90s will go into storage), and its ballistic missiles (Topol and Bulava) are newer and possibly better than America's. It's also planning on building 4-6 new aircraft carrier groups.

What wars was Russia involved in since Putin came to power !? Chechnya and Georgia. It took 7 years to tame the clearly outnumbered and under equipped chechens. Georgia (another "great fascist" enemy with inferior human and technical resources) was a different story but how many tactical decisions were made by Putin !? My guess is, zero.

That just shows you that Putin is not a warmonger like American presidents. And it's already 6 years after Georgia now. Much has happened in the Russian army's organisation since then.

Are you saying what I think you're saying !? That Putin had an interest in that chechen war !? Maybe there was money involved !? I did say that Georgia was a short story but how much of that successful campaign is Putin's merit !?
