I always admired Japan but also found it weird. It's kinda sad though, that there are losers like this but they also need someone to comfort them maybe it's some kind of a cartoon character/stuffed animal. When I feel lonely I do play my pokemon games, I am not a loser though but can understand why the restaurant did it, they probably understand the psyche behind this and hence they did it.

adds up actually. Japan has one of the lowest fertility rates in the world:

Good news however for Japan's stuffed animal market.

When I was there back in 2012 I honestly found the modern culture to be rather degenerate. Japan's old culture was so beautiful and amazing. Granted, aspects of it still persist but I find what exists culturally in Japan today a near and complete utter erosion of the old ways.
I heard most of the samurai class were obliterated though during the 'transition era'. For obvious reasons I suppose. The current culture has an obnoxious vibe to it and awkward femininity. You gotta like anime and tons, and tons of neon lights. Plus vending machines every freakin' where and have a strange feminine air to you even if you are a man.

I'd love to get a whole table of 12 of them, and have a big tea party in public. Would be hilarious.

And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.

To be honest, I really hate Japanese pop culture. Even as a kid, I never got into any of the anime or crap like that. I was always very averse to that, it really annoyed me when people would think I was into it just because I was Asian (and frankly, has nothing to do with me as it isn't my heritage anyways). I do like traditional Japanese culture, so it's not a matter of historical animosity for me. But I just find modern Japanese culture very weird, nihilistic, socially awkward and effeminate (in all the wrong ways), a celebration of social retardation basically. I don't relate to it at any level, in fact, I'm very hostile towards it.
