Are you sure? Aren't they quite nationalist "Bosniak" now. What makes you think that?

I think they have more to gain from Bosnia than from Albanians.

Albanian language isn't easy.. why would they become Albanians? Albanians don't consider them Albanians.

    Religious identification doesn't exist anymore.

Muslim is a religious identification, it was never National identification.

    Ottoman Muslims = Roman Orthodox

When foreigner would address Bosnian in 1600 he would say: Ottoman Muslim.

    The same concept.
Still more correct term is Muslim (used it even in ethnic/national sense, and many of them using it even today), than Bosniaks (they have no connection with Bosnia).

Regardless of their origin they seem politically inclined towards Bosnia, 202 in Novi Pazar declared Albanian, 77 thousand Bosniak. It would be unprecedented if they all started learning Albanian and changed their identity again.

All it takes is a short media push and Albanians would accept them as Albanians in a heartbeat. But as someone else said, they have more to gain from being Bosniak since it seperates them more from all of their surroundings, making them more tribal.

Let's be real, Bosniak is just the umbrella term for Muslim South Slav, regardless of the country, they know that by just calling themselves "Muslims" they can be assimilated into any nation and eventually lose their religion and therefore specificity. It's like claiming /all/ Serbs descend from the Serb tribes, it would be false, but all Serbs belong to the Serb Orthodox Church.

How many Serbs live out of Serbia? Should they become something else...

They did have connection with Bosnia because Bosnian Eyalet from Ottoman Empire included Sanjak

    +1

Serbian identity is only Serbian Orthodox Church, nothing else.

They probably won't "become" Albanians since there is no incentive for them to reclaim their langauge and culture. The interesting thing here is mostly how they're a recently assimilated population. User Alboz posted an interesting Albanian documentary about this topic.
