Japanese word banned by a South Korean television station

    Is this normal behavior?

South Korea’s largest television network banned a South Korean idol group’s video because they used one word in Japanese. The word used was “pika” meaning “glitter,” flash,” or “sparkle.”

When the group removed the word, it was allowed back on the air.

I'm fine with it and salute the Koreans. I'm myself for linguistic purity and favour the ban of all English words from France.

Well, South Korea banned all Japanese pop products until only about a decade ago or so. Historical animosity runs deep.

Some Koreans who adore Japanese entertainment culture are regarded as an insane person a bit in Korea, and it is extreme for my opinion.
