    Default Genetic study in Brazil

Hi! I'm from Brazil and, as far as I know, 23andme does not ship to Brazil...I have a friend living in Michigan and I'd like to know if it's safe to ask him to ship me the saliva sample from Michigan to Brazil, because I read that in New York they have some kind of law forbidding this kind of shipping...

Also, I'd like to know, once I received the saliva sample in Brazil, if it's safe to ship it directly to the 23andme lab.

Sorry guys, but I don't want to waste my money, so I need to know if this is really going to work!! Thanks

Lurker managed to get it via the mail. He could help you. FamilyTreeDNA has recently upgrade their test, and they ship to Brazil (www.familytreedna.com). You could download your raw data there, and then study your ancestry via independent projects.

Both are about as accurate nowadays. On 23andme the relatives tool is better still. But FamilyTreeDNA is a serious site too, and upgrades can be expected. Lurker is the poster Malcolm Z from biodiversity, do you remember him?

23andme is better and more accurate than Family Tree DNA. 23andme is the best genetic test.

MyOrigins is working just as fine IMO, and besides you can download your raw data too, and send it to independent projects. I gave him an alternative way, just in case he wants the kit to be sent to Brazil.

He found a way via the mail. I think 23andme sent the kit to the mail and then the mail sent the kit to him. If you have friends in the US, they could help you. That's how I did it.
