I feel sad that some people are happy to see the fall of Christianity in England. If they honestly think that what is coming next is going to be grand, then I pity them, because their expectations are going to be dashed.

But they'll see soon enough for themselves.

    Regards,
    The Papist.

I think that Spengler had it right with his prediction of a coming "Second Religiousness," religious-type movements and beliefs born from the masses, which will be suspicious of the elite and their rationalism.

Then that would be exchanging one extreme for another. Rationalism is vital, so long as one does not take the Socratic route, in the Nietzschean sense, and completely reject the Dionysian.

    Equilibrium is the key.
I believe that legends and myth are largely made of
“truth”, and indeed present aspects of it that can only be received in this mode; and long ago certain truths and modes of this kind were discovered and must always reappear.

    J.R.R. Tolkien

Indeed it might be a basic characteristic of existence that those who would know it completely would perish, in which case the strength of a spirit should be measured according to how much of the “truth” one could still barely endure-or to put it more clearly, to what degree one would require it to be thinned down, shrouded, sweetened, blunted, falsified.
    Nietzsche

To God everything is beautiful, good, and just; humans, however, think some things are unjust and others just.

Spengler does not insist it to be right or wrong but inevitable, a phase in the cycle.

    At a guess, nothing.
Just a vacuous, atheistic, hedonistic society with no spirit or soul, no common bond, other than the state of its economy, and the cost of its living.

The C. of E. did this to itself. It may have Ł4,000,000,000 in assets, but its belief in itself has been lost.
It still has wonderful choral music, cathedrals and rituals, but that's all now.

    This guy means business.
He has spoken frequently about the wrongdoings down in Zimbabwe, and now he has his position of power, he's gonna use it!

Is he going to parachute into that hellhole and tell the negroes to halt with their ethnic cleansing? Err, no.

Is he going to chain himself up to the Zimbabwean High Commision railings in London, until the racial black on white murders cease? Nope!

Is he the Janitor LOL?! Err.. maybe

No, HongKong Phooey has gone for the incredibly brave option of...

Cutting up his dog collar till the iniquities cease...
