So funny, I never met him but I used to work with mutual people in the field when I was living in Hawaii.

Ive found that with Hawaiian music and chants, you can't really appreciate it fully until you've been to Hawaii and really witnessed the local culture and the natural beauty there, then you'd understand the soul of the music. I was never really interested in Hawaiian music until I visited Hawaii and since then everytime I've heard Hawaiian music, I can't help but think of the beautiful mountains, valleys and beaches there, and the friendliness and sincerity of the local people. It is the friendliest place I've ever been to in my life, and really genuine people.

It's a unique place for sure but even after living there for 3 years, I still could not get used to the daily heat and moderate humidity.
