    Default Pisi Linux OS

Meet Pisi Linux, a linux based operation system, developed in Turkey by ANKA ( Fenix) Team. they have some developers outside-Turkey on team to.
This version is still in the Release Candidate stage (RC-2), but has a great set of tools and a fluid install. Kaptan makes customizing nice and easy.

    What is Pisi GNU/Linux?

Pisi GNU/Linux is a Linux distribution based on the old Pardus Linux with it's famous PISI package system. It's an operating system for your computer, that provides the base system that allows you to do things like listen to music, browse the internet and create documents.

Pisi GNU/Linux uses the KDE 4.x Desktop Environment, providing you with a traditional desktop.
    Why use Pisi GNU/Linux?

Pisi GNU/Linux is build from scratch but it is a stable base. On top of that, we keep core user applications, such as Firefox, VLC, etc, up to date as much as we can. To ease the use of Pisi GNU/Linux many codecs are preinstalled allowing MP3 & DVD playback, Flash Player support. Please check whether you can use these codecs in your country before downloading Pisi GNU/Linux.

Responsive. We make many optimisations to the underlying system and kernel to ensure it operates with minimal lag
Ease of use. Pardus-Linux GNU/Linux includes support for a variety of hardware and multimedia formats
Constant developments. We're always developing new software to keep the Pisi GNU/Linux experience as fresh and friendly as possible
Future stability: Every day we update the PISI buildfiles and packages
Stable. Pisi GNU/Linux is build from scratch, ensuring you have no worries with system crashes and unexpected behaviour from new bugs
Up to date. We use a combination of stability and new core user software like the web browser, firmware and drivers to maximise the Pisi GNU/Linux experience.

    Can I run Pisi GNU/Linux?

Below is a list of system requirements for Pisi GNU/Linux. Please note that although Pisi GNU/Linux does not require a modern GPU to operate, if you wish to stream videos or
play games, etc, then you will naturally require a more modern GPU. A screen resolution of 1024x768 or 1336x1024 is generally recommended for Pisi GNU/Linux, as smaller screens may have issues with browsing certain websites, etc.

    Pisi Linux 1.0 now available
Submitted by admin on Thu, 08/14/2014 - 22:00

After much hard work, we now have the pleasure of announcing the release of Pisi Linux 1.0

Pisi Linux is based on the ‘rolling-release’ distribution model; is currently 64bit only and caters mainly for KDE users - though LXDE, xfce and a minmal install are also available.

We have tried to ensure that this release is as smooth as possible. At any rate, the clean-slate design underpinning Pisi Linux, with its emphasis on simplicity and efficiency makes for an inherently reliable and responsive platform.

Regarding roadmaps and versioning etc: At this 1.0 milestone event, we wish to highlight the fact that we are only a small number of developers, and that the way forward will be dictated by some degree according to the level of adoption of this version 1.0 release.

We believe that Pisi Linux, as the only existing fork of the original (pisi-based) Pardus Linux, has a real and unique value to add to the Linux community. If, after trying Pisi Linux, you come to a similar conclusion and would like to help Pisi Linux evolve and realize its potential, then please email admins@pisilinix.org Perhaps you have a skill in one of the following areas, or are maybe able to offer hardware or hosting? But really, any offers of support will be much appreciated:
    - Python, XML
    - Packaging
    - Documentation, Translation, Artwork
    - Q/A & Testing

    With thanks,

    The Anka Team.
