Also, in response to the thread, males that say things like "nice guys finish last" tend not to be the "nice guys" they claim to be since their primary intentions are always to get laid and not to become friends with females, I have the feeling that if they simply switched their priorities they would have a much better chance of getting laid. Also the friend zone isn't exclusive to males, not even exclusive to hetero-gender friendships, I know I have a number of female friends, who I'd consider to be in my friendzone, and I in theirs.

I don't understand how having a female friend can be seen as a negative thing, if anything it's more likely to boost a male's chance of success in the long run, it'll give him a better idea of what certain types of female like, not to mention the increased security and quality of character being surrounded by female friends and acquaintances implies to potential mates.

Also it really depends on the context we use "nice guys finish last", in some situations, a male finishing last is considered polite.

What people refer to now as the "friend zone" is not the original meaning of the phrase. It used to refer to men who were being used by a woman as a boyfriend, but she would refer to him only as her friend. But people are stupid and started using the phrase anytime a girl wasn't romantically interested.

If you are in a friendzone, you have absolutely no one to blame but yourself. If all you want from a woman is a sexually or romantic relationship and she will not immediately deliver, cut off contact. Is it somehow supposed to be her fault if you're retarded enough to stick around?

What exactly do women have to offer in a friendship? No grown man should be friends with a woman unless it is perhaps your buddies wife or maybe a family members wife. Those are exceptions but you still generally wouldn't hang out with them in a singular fashion.

Media needs to shed more light on the dark nature of women aswell, namely the intense hypergamous tendencies, unrealistic dating standarts and heavier things like hybristophilia(love for criminals, serial killers) the way they glorify and award thugs

The same women who wrote love letters to the serial killer Ted Bundy would probably friendzone many men in the real life, branding them as creepy incels

Exactly, problem nowadays is women are rarely if ever held responsible for their actions, meanwhile society is very harsh on any man's mistake

The root issue is that people tend to only befriend others with end goals in mind. No one ever enjoys someone’s company just because. Expectation becomes the foundation for disappointment, aka what’s referred to currently as the friend zone.

I agree with Sean on his definition of what friend zone was originally intentioned to be, though the definition probably evolved due to technology and the ability to be accepted or rejected at a faster rate.

Most people who believe they have been friend zoned never qualified to be in it to began with. I feel like people should be more realistic with their expectations, as well as the yield of their efforts.
