    I Plurali

In lingua Sarda Logudorese i plurali finiscono in OS, AS, ES, IS, mentre in Campidanese in US, AS, IS

s'oju, sos ojos (l'occhio, gli occhi)
su pilu, sos pilos (il capello, i capelli)

    Eccezioni

Particolarità, differenze nell'uso del verbo essere in confronto all'Italiano

In alcune frasi dove in Italiano viene usato il verbo "stare" in Sardo viene usato il verbo "essere", esattamente come accade anche in Inglese e in altre lingue europee

    esempio:

stiamo andando a casa - semus andende an domo (letteralmente "siamo andando a (a+in) casa)
dove stai andando? - a in ue ses andende? (dove sei andando?)
come stai? - si può tradurre "coment'ìstas?" oppure "comente ses?" (come sei?)
cosa stai bevendo? - itte ses buffende? (cosa sei bevendo?)

Un altra differenza c'è anche nell'uso del gerundio e del participio presente, che in Sardo sono uguali

ad esempio, le frasi in Italiano "L'acqua è bollente" e "L'acqua sta bollendo" in Sardo si traducono entrambe "S'abba est buddende"

Religious feast days in Sardinian language

Christmas - Nadale, Pasca de Nadale (literally Easter of Christmas)
Christmas midnight Mass - Missa de puddu (literally Rooster's Mass)
Epiphany - Pasca de sos Tres Res (Easter of The Three Kings)
Palm Sunday - Dominiga de Pramma, Dominiga de sas Prammas
    Easter
    - Pasca de Aprile / Abrile (Easter of April)
Easter's Week - Chida Santa (Holy Week)

    Easter's Week rites
S'Iscravamentu (from Latin "Exclavare" literally "pull the nails out from") in this rite the dead Christ is deposed from the cross, put in an open coffin and brought in procession
S'Incontru (The Meeting) the resurrected Christ is brought in procession to meet his mother

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

S'Ardia (The Guard) S'Ardia is a religious rite dedicated to Saint Constantine Emperor, this is a Byzantine ritual practised in Sardinia since VIIth century, it consists in a stylised horse race where the raiders interpret Saint Constantine, his lieutenants, his soldiers and the enemies, the raiders ride at high speed around the Saint Constantine church, 3 times clockwise, 3 times anticlockwise, this is the same ritual done by late Roman and Byzantine riders to honor a dead emperor when his body was exposed in public for the last goodbye.

    p.s.
Saint Constantine is not recognised as Saint by Roman church, but only by Orthodox church, this is one of the various Byzantine religious traditions still alive in Sardinia even if almost 900 years are passed since Sardinian church left the Byzantine ritual to join the Roman church

Feast of the Assumption - Nostra Segnora de Mes'Austu (Our Lady of Middle August) in this feast in every church of Sardinia is displayed to the public the statue of the Holy Virgin sleeping in a bed, this is another Byzantine tradition

Nostra Segnora de Itria (Our Lady of Itria) In many villages of inner Sardinia there is a special cult for "Nostra Segnora de Itria", it's an ancient cult dating back to the times when Sardinian church used the Byzantine ritual; the word Itria is the contraction of the Greek "Ὁδηγήτρια" Hodegetria, literally "She who showns the way", the Virgin Hodegetria was the patron saint of Constantinopolis, and along with the Saint Constantine feast was one of the most important feasts in the Byzantine empire.

All Saints' day - Sos Santos, Su Die de sos Santos (The Saints' Day)
All Souls' day - Sos Mortos, Su Die de sos Mortos (The Deads' Day)
    Immaculate Conception - Sa Purissima

HOW VERBS WORK IN SARDINIAN LANGUAGE

Sardinian verbs are quite easy to master if you have a basic knowledge of Latin, because given that Sardinian language is the most conservative of the Romance family, the verbal conjugations have remained nearly identical to the four Latin conjugations.

    Ist CONJUGATION

The Ist conjugation is composed by verbs with INFINITIVES ending with "ARE"
