Buy a plane ticket to Udmurtia, it will be worth it. I think that Udmurt women are very attractive, probably because I have a small fetish for red haired women.

I myself just recently found out that Udmurts are the most red-haired people in the world. I met a group of Udmurts about half a year ago and they were all red-haired and very pale. Later I tried to find more information about them on the internet and stumbled upon this:

I saw some Udmurts when I lived in Russia - many of them look like Irish with some uralic influence.

The woman in the middle could easily pass for Irish.

There also has been a few HLA Uralic markers found in a sample in West Ireland. I wonder if this Irish person/sample was half Polish or half Russia though.

As for red hair. Supposably Scotland has the largest percentage of red haired people. The MC1R gene (melanocortin receptor 1) supposably occurred in the Middle East, that's what most scientific research suggests. Another theory is that it occurred in the Balkans near Galatia (which could technically be referred to as the "Near East" back than), and spread north-westwards towards Western Europe, Central Europe, Northern Europe, Eastern Europe, Southern Europe, and finally into the Middle East from Europeans.

Though, I tend to believe the most proposed scientific theory that the red hair occurred in the Middle East through Caucasians.

There are a significant number of redheads in the Middle East among Israelis, Lebanese, Syrians, Palestinians, Egyptians and Iraqis.

"Although the earliest chestnut allele (MC1R gene) was identified in a Romanian sample from the late seventh millennium B.P., chestnut horses were first observed in Siberia (fifth millenium B.P.). Their prevalence increased rapidly, reaching 28% during the Bronze Age."

Don't know if the Irish ever settled Udmurtia, though.

However, I could make a guess that (at least a part of) redheaded Estonians descend from the Irish and Scottish settlers who came to settle open lands here in the 17th-18th centuries!

It occured at least three times independently at different times and places. Anyway. Most of these Udmurts have clear Eastern features.

One can collect pics of emphasisedly red-headed or emphasisedly eastern-looking Udmurts.Or extra blond looking ones.It just depends on what one wants to emphasise.
Personally I think that most of Udmurts look like average people.

I would like to ask you not to discuss Udmurts in my thread. You can create a new one.

    Thank you.

I exaggerate a bit but some people in this forum tend to say : genuine Finno-Ugrians are Asians! And some others tend to say: genuine Finno-Ugrians are totaally blond, nearly albinos!

Maybe we need a bit soberness?

    Udmurts again

There's diversity among Finno-Ugrians, just like among Indo-Europeans. Eastern Finno-Ugrians have been influenced by Turkics, Siberians, Tatars, Mongols etc. Just like the Russians in the same area. Thus it's no wonder that they look Asian-like. Although some of them are unmixed.

As Finno-Ugrics were/are the native Paleolithic Europeans then blond hair is common among Finno-Ugrics(especially in Northern Europe because of cultural diffusion, there was no demic diffusion in Northern Europe).

Finns are genetically one of the least diverse people in Europe(they also have lots of Paleolithic genes, more then most Europeans) and anthropologically they resemble the original Upper Paleolithic people the most. Making logical conclusions shouldn't be hard.

Actually, I'd be really interested in viewing a Udmurt/Uralic/Volga Finn thread!! up

Perhaps a Mod can do a thread split?
